Welcome to this week’s newsletter, where we bring you the latest news in the world of NFTs. Today, we have some interesting stories to share with you. First up, Binance’s NFT arm has decided to end its support for Bitcoin Ordinals. The exchange made this announcement on April 4, stating that it is part of their efforts to streamline their product offerings. They will no longer be facilitating trades and deposits involving Bitcoin Ordinals, and they will also be discontinuing Bitcoin NFT airdrops and utilities after April 10. Users are advised to withdraw their Bitcoin NFTs from the marketplace before May 18.
Next, we have an exciting development in the Dogecoin NFT community. They have created their own version of the popular Bitcoin Ordinals “Runestone” airdrop. In March, over 30,000 Doge Runestones were sent to wallets that held at least one Doginal, which is Dogecoin’s Ordinals protocol. This initiative was inspired by the success of the Bitcoin-based Runestone airdrop, where 112,000 Runestones were distributed to early adopters of the protocol.
Moving on, we have news from asset manager Franklin Templeton. They recently shared an investor note introducing Bitcoin Ordinals to their clients. According to the note, the protocol has sparked a “renaissance” in activity on the Bitcoin network and has driven positive momentum in Bitcoin innovation. However, Franklin Templeton also warned its investors about the risks associated with the protocol.
In other news, the metaverse is poised to revolutionize the medical tourism market. With advancements in virtual reality and telemedicine, patients can now receive medical treatments and consultations from the comfort of their own homes. This has the potential to greatly expand access to healthcare and reduce costs for patients.
Lastly, in our Nifty News segment, we have an exciting collaboration between NFT collection Doodles and popular rapper Lil Wayne. They have announced an upcoming animated film featuring a character voiced by Lil Wayne. This collaboration aims to create a unique storytelling experience through digital collecting experiences.
That wraps up this week’s newsletter. Thank you for joining us, and be sure to come back next Wednesday for more updates and insights into the rapidly evolving world of NFTs.
