Bitcoin-based nonfungible tokens (NFTs) have made a strong comeback in weekly sales, surpassing Ethereum NFTs. The NodeMonkes collection led the spike in volume, with Bitcoin NFTs recording $169.5 million in sales, an increase of 80% compared to the previous week. In contrast, Ethereum, which has been the top blockchain for all-time NFT sales, recorded $162 million in sales during the same period.
Uncategorized Ordinals, which are NFTs that are not part of any collections, accounted for the highest number of sales, with a volume of $43 million across 47,000 transactions. The NodeMonkes collection came in second place, with $41 million in sales volume.
In another story, a Bitcoin Ordinals trader mistakenly purchased an NFT worth $13,000. However, after sharing their story on X to remind others to double-check their transactions, the original owner of the NFT saw the post and offered to repurchase it. The seller, Dan Anderson, agreed to buy back the NFT at its original sale price of 0.21 BTC, as they listed it for sale because they believed it was valuable, not to take advantage of any errors.
