South African comedian and entertainer Trevor Noah expressed regret for not investing in Bitcoin when it was worth nothing. Speaking at the Web Summit Qatar 2024 in Doha, Noah shared his love for technology and his thoughts on artificial intelligence. When asked about his biggest mistake in life, he admitted to not buying Bitcoin and not taking the time to understand it. Noah has previously discussed cryptocurrency and nonfungible token (NFT) trading on his former show, The Daily Show. In 2018, false rumors circulated that he was leaving the show to pursue Bitcoin trading. However, he did eventually leave the show in 2022. The Web Summit Qatar, a tech conference focused on fintech and AI, began on February 26 and will run until February 29. During the opening, the Prime Minister of Qatar announced a $1-billion investment by the Qatar Investment Authority in venture capital funds. Despite missing out on Bitcoin, Noah’s net worth is estimated to be around $100 million. Bitcoin prices recently reached a 25-month high of $56,700, with its market capitalization surpassing $1.1 trillion. The cryptocurrency has seen a 34% increase over the past 30 days and is currently only 18.5% below its all-time high in November 2021.

Trevor Noah regrets not purchasing Bitcoin in its early stages, deeming it his "greatest error ever made".
