Former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has pledged to put an end to President Joe Biden’s “war on crypto” if he is re-elected. Speaking at a special event in West Palm Beach, Florida on his 78th birthday, Trump stated, “I will end Joe Biden’s war on crypto, and we will ensure that the future of crypto and Bitcoin will be made in America; we’re going to keep it right here, and a lot of it is going to be done in Florida.”
This is not the first time Trump has criticized Biden for his tough stance on crypto. On May 26, he criticized Biden, emphasizing that the U.S. should strive to lead the crypto industry. Trump expressed his views on the social media platform, Truth Social, which is owned by Trump Media and Technology Group.
Looking ahead to the 2024 presidential race where he will face off against Biden, Trump has also promised to boost Florida’s presence in the crypto industry. CoinLedger data has named Florida as the “best state” for crypto taxes in the U.S. due to its favorable regulatory policies and lack of state income tax. In contrast, New York was ranked as the worst state for crypto taxes.
Trump has also voiced his support for the Bitcoin mining industry, advocating for all remaining Bitcoin to be mined within the United States. This move comes as part of his broader efforts to position America as a leading player in the crypto space.
