OKX, a major global cryptocurrency exchange, has officially launched in the Netherlands, introducing a local trading platform and a Web3 wallet for users. The exchange announced the launch of its centralized crypto exchange (CEX) and OKX Wallet in the country on June 3. Dutch customers can now access approximately 150 cryptocurrencies for trading, with at least 60 trading pairs available with the euro.
OKX has integrated with the local payment system called iDeal to facilitate seamless euro deposits and withdrawals for its Dutch customers. This integration allows users to deposit euros into their accounts free of charge. Additionally, OKX deposits and withdrawals are available through the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) as well.
The exchange offers a range of services including spot trading, staking, and the Web3 wallet for users in the Netherlands. The OKX Wallet allows users to have full custody of their crypto assets, providing them with greater control over their holdings.
Erald Ghoos, the general manager of OKX Europe, expressed the company’s commitment to the Netherlands, stating that they have hired a local team of experts and developed products based on user feedback. The official launch of OKX in the Netherlands comes after the exchange rebranded from Okcoin Europe in April.
OKX initially started operating in the Netherlands as Okcoin Europe in 2021, after registering as a crypto services provider with the central bank of the country, De Nederlandsche Bank. The exchange also holds a virtual financial asset service provider license in Malta.
Dutch residents interested in signing up for OKX can visit the exchange’s website, download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and complete the verification process. To celebrate the launch, OKX is offering a new user bonus of up to 50 euros ($54) for customers who sign up by July 3.
While expanding its presence in Europe, OKX recently announced the withdrawal of its Hong Kong Virtual Asset Licensing Regime license application along with other exchanges like Huobi and Gate.io.
