Bitcoin bridge XLink has announced a partnership with Kaamel Technology in order to investigate a recent security breach. This collaboration is part of XLink’s first major initiative to address the breach. XLink has also accelerated collaborations with Ancilia and Cobo to enhance the security of the Bitcoin bridge platform. The breach, which occurred on May 15, resulted in the loss of nearly $10 million in user funds. Kaamel Technology will conduct an in-depth investigation into the breach and implement measures to prevent future breaches. XLink is also partnering with Ancilia Inc. to enhance real-time on-chain monitoring infrastructure and taking additional steps with BTC custodian Cobo. XLink plans to announce further partnerships in the future to strengthen the platform’s security. The breach involved the compromise of the Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain endpoints, with the attacker stealing around $4.3 million. However, a white hat hacker was able to recover the stolen assets. Additionally, on May 15, Bitcoin layer-2 developer Alex Labs, the creator of the XLink bridge, was exploited, resulting in the loss of approximately $13.7 million in Stacks (STX) tokens.
