Ankr, a web3 infrastructure platform, has announced its integration with The Open Network (TON) blockchain, enabling developers to create decentralized applications (DApps) for Telegram users. The integration will eliminate the need for node setup on TON, saving developers hours of development time. With an estimated audience of 950 million users, Telegram is a popular platform for DApps, such as the game Hamster Kombat, which has already attracted over 300 million players in a short period of time. These DApps leverage TON’s blockchain infrastructure and can operate directly within the Telegram app. Ankr’s integration will provide remote procedure calls (RPCs) connections, allowing developers to interact with the TON network for tasks like executing transactions and retrieving ownership information. The integration will also utilize a geo-distributed network of blockchain nodes for improved global connectivity. Chandler Song, co-founder and CEO of Ankr, expressed excitement about the removal of barriers to building innovative functionalities on Telegram. While the TON blockchain offers its own RPC services, Ankr’s integration simplifies node management complexities. The TON Foundation has also chosen Axelar’s Mobius Development Stack (MDS) to connect its ecosystem with 68 networks, enabling developers to build DApps across multiple blockchains without the need for bridging solutions. In September, the TON blockchain received a $30 million strategic investment from Bitget and Foresight Ventures to support the development of TON-based applications, particularly games like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin.
