The launch of the Olympus Acceleration Platform has been announced by the Dfinity Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Switzerland and a major contributor to the Internet Computer blockchain. In a press release, it is stated that Olympus is the first decentralized, on-chain Web3 accelerator. It is described as a groundbreaking platform that will be utilized by teams worldwide to organize and initiate their own accelerator programs.
What sets Olympus apart from similar accelerator programs, according to the foundation, is its “Open Stake” model. This model allows projects, mentors, and investors to freely interact, promoting inclusivity within the ecosystem and enabling unlimited integrations.
Dominic Williams, the founder and chief scientist of the Dfinity Foundation, expressed his excitement about the platform, stating that it is a global platform for everyone.
The new platform will implement a “trustless perpetual loop,” which Dfinity refers to as on-chain verification of key project growth metrics. This will be made possible through the infrastructure of the Internet Computer Protocol.
The Internet Computer is a decentralized computing platform that utilizes blockchain technology to host software directly on the internet. Its mission is to democratize internet infrastructure and create a more open and equitable digital ecosystem.
Olympus was developed with support from Web3Labs, a blockchain accelerator based in Hong Kong. It also received mentorship and support from investors and partners at various VC funds, including Fenbushi Capital, Fundamental Labs, Softbank Vision Fund, NewTribe Capital, Cypher Capital, Bitcoin Frontier Fund, Summer Ventures, L2IV, Dext Force Ventures, Leadblock Partners, viaBTC Capital, Cipholio Ventures, Chiron Group, 3X Capital, Plutus.VC, and others.
