Web3 game Wilder World has recently received a spot on the prestigious Epic Games Store in anticipation of its upcoming debut, which has yet to be scheduled.
The game, dubbed as “the ultimate game” by its creator, Wilder World, offers a virtual world where players can freely roam in the city of Wiami. This metaverse city allows for exploration, racing, socializing, and much more. Everything in the game, including items, equipment, land, and avatars, will serve as tradable digital assets in the Wilder World marketplace.
Co-founder of Wilder World, Frank Wilder, has expressed that the game will revolutionize the gaming experience by blending various leading genres into one immersive gameplay. This approach aims to address the perceived limitations of traditional AAA games like Grand Theft Auto and Cyberpunk. The Wilder World team plans to merge racing, mining, and first-person-shooter genres into a cohesive single-game experience.
Wilder World is being developed on its blockchain technology to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The team is collaborating with Polygon and Celestia to create a custom, scalable blockchain for low fees, and working with Metagravity to support virtual worlds hosting thousands of players.
In addition, the creators have disclosed plans to eventually transition the game to a proprietary cloud gaming platform. By utilizing NVIDIA GPUs, they are actively working on a cloud gaming service that guarantees reliability, hardware performance, and optimization for metaverse and Web3 gaming. However, the initial phase will see Wilder World available on Nvidia’s streaming gaming service Geforce NOW.
The project’s roadmap outlines a staged release of functionalities over the next 12-18 months. Initially, the game will introduce the racing segment during “Act I,” followed by the combat segment in “Act III.” This strategic approach aims to create a robust and engaging gaming experience for players.
