In an effort to expand the Web3 gaming ecosystem and attract more gamers to blockchain gaming, companies are forming alliances. Immutable recently announced that it has partnered with OKX to onboard 75 Web3 games in the past three months, bringing the total number of blockchain-based games on the platform to 270.
Jason Lau, the chief innovation officer of OKX, explained that Web3 has the potential to enhance gamers’ experiences by enabling true ownership, facilitating asset trading, and allowing players to earn from their in-game assets. Additionally, Web3 encourages unique game mechanics, innovative business models, and community involvement.
OKX and Immutable are collaborating on a GameFi launchpad to further drive the adoption of Web3 gaming. The launchpad, built on Immutable’s zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) chain, will improve discoverability and access to upcoming Web3 games, experiences, and assets.
As part of the partnership, games launching on the Immutable chain will have access to OKX solutions, including its exchange, wallet, and nonfungible token marketplace. The OKX Wallet service will also be integrated with Immutable Passport, a login method developed by the Web3 game publisher.
Lau emphasized the importance of blockchain gaming firms in onboarding gamers to Web3 and urged them to prioritize unique game mechanics and community cultivation. He also highlighted the need for educating players on the benefits of Web3.
Immutable has been continuously enhancing its gaming ecosystem to make Web3 gaming more accessible. They introduced the zkEVM platform, which eliminates gas fees for users, and launched the passport wallet infrastructure, allowing players to create and recover their wallets using Google or Apple accounts.
Overall, the partnership between Immutable and OKX aims to expand the Web3 gaming ecosystem, improve gamers’ experiences, and drive innovation in the industry.
