The blockchain ecosystem and renowned cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, has unveiled a unique initiative to promote female participation in the industry. In a creative fusion of finance and luxury, Binance has introduced a high-end fragrance called Crypto, aimed at attracting the attention of women. The company’s female marketing leaders announced this inclusive campaign in anticipation of International Women’s Day on March 8.
Originally developed as part of the “Crypto is Yours” campaign, the Crypto fragrance is a departure from traditional beauty advertising, challenging the norms of the crypto space. Rachel Conlan, Binance’s Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized the invaluable contributions women have made to the crypto industry. She stated that the fragrance is not just a scent, but a message to women, affirming their significant role in the crypto revolution.
Binance’s primary goal with this initiative is to encourage more women to explore the world of crypto. To further incentivize participation, the company plans to reward the first 5,000 women who complete one of their beginner crypto courses with $25 in Tether (USDT).
Conlan stressed that crypto is a universal domain, and everyone should feel empowered to engage in it. In a 2023 interview with Cointelegraph leading up to International Women’s Day, Binance’s co-founder, He Yi, advised aspiring individuals to disregard gender and instead focus on mindset to succeed in Web3.
Binance is not the only crypto platform addressing the female demographic. On January 16, the cryptocurrency exchange Bitget pledged to allocate $10 million towards women-led Web3 startups through the Blockchain4Her initiative. This initiative aims to promote gender diversity and inclusivity within the industry. According to a report from Bitget Research, women-led or created startups received only $1.77 billion of the $27.85 billion in Web3 venture capital funding between Q1 2022 and Q3 2023, accounting for approximately 6.43%. This statistic highlights the ongoing efforts of major industry players to encourage greater participation by women.
In other news, the owner of the renowned CryptoPunk Seedphrase, which boasts seven traits, has partnered with the esteemed auction house, Sotheby’s. This collaboration aims to explore the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and cater to the growing interest in NFT collections.
