Unstoppable Domains and Blockchain.com have joined forces to introduce and commercialize a cutting-edge “.blockchain” domain name system (DNS)-enabled Web3 domain.
In a statement shared with Cointelegraph, the two companies collaborated to secure the .blockchain Web3 domain through the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the global authority on IP addresses and domain names.
ICANN is set to roll out new generic top-level domains (gTLDs) by the second quarter of 2026. This gives Unstoppable Domains and Blockchain.com a year to get ready for the application of the new domain.

Over time, Blockchain.com has attracted 40 million verified users, established more than 90 million crypto wallets, and facilitated $1.2 trillion in crypto transactions.
In an interview with Cointelegraph, Sandy Carter, the chief operating officer of Unstoppable Domains, expressed enthusiasm about how the partnership could boost Web3 adoption. She stated:
Lane Kasselman, president of Blockchain.com, echoed Carter’s sentiments, saying:
Once ICANN gives the green light, individuals worldwide will have the opportunity to register .blockchain domains for the Web2 ecosystem. Unstoppable Domains is planning to broaden domain registrations by offering customized domain names for individuals, brands, and businesses.
