Gresini Racing has joined forces with MotoGP Guru and SPORTPASS, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, to introduce an innovative sponsorship program driven by fans. This initiative allows MotoGP enthusiasts to purchase personal team sponsorship packages, starting at a price of 125 euros.
Graeme Warring, the Founder of WePlay Media, shared his insights on the main challenge in implementing these accessible sponsorship deals for MotoGP fans. He explained that WePlay Media, the gaming studio behind MotoGP Guru, has established the necessary infrastructure and on-the-ground teams to breathe life into real-life experiences.
The decision to offer sponsorship packages at a fraction of the regular cost ensures that this product is accessible to a wider range of people and reduces the risk of centralization. This move is significant in the crypto space, as it has the potential to decentralize the ownership of MotoGP teams and increase fan engagement.
Warring further discussed the future impact of decentralization on professional sports, emphasizing the transformative effects it could have. He believes that the fan sponsorship program will enable fans to play a more active role in MotoGP teams and their operations.
The sponsorship packages come with various benefits, including VIP Paddock Experiences at the 2024 Grand Prix events, name placement on the bikes and team websites, exclusive events, Zoom calls with team members, custom merchandise, and a chance to win a Ducati Panigale V4S ridden by Marc Marquez.
