Polygon Labs, in collaboration with Succinct Labs, has developed a groundbreaking form of zero-knowledge (ZK) proof called a pessimistic proof. These proofs, built on the SP1 ZK virtual machine (zkVM), will ensure that the deposits of participants in the AggLayer network remain secure and unaffected by any malicious actions from a single chain. A spokesperson from Polygon explained to Cointelegraph the effectiveness of SP1’s pessimistic proofs in safeguarding the system from potential threats.
When asked about the benefits of integrating SP1 with Rust and Plonky3, the spokesperson highlighted the advantages for developers. They also shared the future plans for SP1 and Plonky3, emphasizing their commitment to further advancements in the field.
In a recent interview, Polygon co-founder Brendan Farmer discussed the significance of the AggLayer and ZK technology with Cointelegraph. Farmer described the AggLayer as a decentralized protocol operated by staked nodes and delved into the core principles of the “Aggregated Blockchains Thesis.” He also expressed his belief that ensuring financial privacy will be of utmost importance in the coming decades.
