Casper Labs, a provider of blockchain software and services, has announced that it will integrate its new Prove AI product with IBM’s “watsonx.governance” platform. The CEO of Casper Labs, Mrinal Manohar, made the announcement at the IBM Think conference and revealed that Prove AI already has its first design partner.
Prove AI will offer various features for generative artificial intelligence (AI) training data sets, including security, version control, multiparty access control, and advanced auditing functions through audit logs. Casper Labs developed this solution on its Casper blockchain, which operates across both permissioned and permissionless networks. Prove AI can be seamlessly added onto watsonx.governance and is fully integrated into the IBM service, according to Casper Labs.
“As regulators begin to demand greater accountability from businesses working with AI, there’s a clear and urgent need for businesses to de-risk AI initiatives,” said Manohar. Prove AI will enable businesses to revert to earlier versions of data sets to diagnose issues such as hallucinations, bias, and performance problems.
The AI governance solution was developed in collaboration with IBM Consulting as part of a partnership announced in January. It leverages IBM’s existing analytics and policy enforcement capabilities. Compliance with legislation like the European Union’s AI Act, passed in March, or industry regulatory standards may be involved in the governance process.
GreyscaleAI, a California-based company that specializes in building and managing inspection systems for the food, drink, and medicine industries, will be the first design partner for Prove AI. They use high-resolution X-ray imaging and AI algorithms to identify packaging errors and unwanted materials in products. GreyscaleAI will be utilizing the beta version of Prove AI, with the full-scale launch expected in the third quarter of 2024.
In addition to the partnership with Casper Labs, IBM has also teamed up with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority to integrate its ALLaM Arabic text generation model into watsonx. IBM plans to replace up to 7,800, or 30%, of its back-end workers with AI within the next five years.
Casper Labs launched its blockchain in 2020 after transitioning from Ethereum. In 2021, they introduced their native CSPR token, which has garnered significant investor interest. CSPR reached a year-long trading high of $0.056 on January 4th and is currently trading at $0.030 as of May 21st, with a trading volume of $10 million and a market cap of $355 million.
