The month of April witnessed a remarkable surge in investments for blockchain gaming, reaching a staggering $988 million. This marks the highest investment amount since January 2021. Additionally, the number of daily unique active wallets in blockchain gaming reached a record-breaking 2.9 million.
On May 17, DappRadar released its April blockchain gaming report in collaboration with the Blockchain Gaming Alliance. This exceptional month for the sector aligns with the overall trends observed in the decentralized applications (Dapp) market.
The report attributes this recent growth to various factors, including a renewed interest from consumers in digital assets within the gaming context. Among the blockchain gaming platforms, Ronin’s “Pixels” claimed the top spot for the month, surpassing the previous market leader Polygon. Ronin’s success can be attributed to its impressive collection of games, which includes popular titles like Matr1x and QORPO WORLD.
April proved to be a groundbreaking month for blockchain gaming. In the first quarter of 2024, the total investments in blockchain gaming amounted to $288 million. However, April’s investments alone tripled that amount, falling just $22 million short of reaching an impressive billion dollars.
The report also highlighted positive growth in the metaverse during April. Mocaverse emerged as the top metaverse-related NFT collection, with an astounding trading volume of $8.4 million, leaving its competitors far behind. Farmland by Pixels secured the second spot with a trading volume of $1.48 million, while Otherdeed by Otherside also achieved a remarkable trading volume of $1.02 million.
DappRadar also noted significant moves made by major players in the gaming industry, such as Ubisoft and Square-Enix. These strategic moves suggest a promising future for the blockchain gaming sector. The report’s authors expressed their belief that blockchain gaming has experienced a significant boost in April, and they concluded that the sector is rejuvenated and well-prepared to capitalize on new technologies and innovations.
